The best trading platform in Abu Dhabi depends first on what you intend to buy. For ADX-listed UAE shares, start with an ADX trading member such as FAB Securities, ADCB Securities, Al Ramz or Emirates NBD Securities. For self-directed US stocks and ETFs, Abu Dhabi-regulated Sarwa Trade is the clearest local option in this comparison. Saxo offers much broader global market access, but UAE clients contract with the relevant Saxo entity and its Dubai offices are representative offices—not a UAE-licensed retail brokerage equivalent to the local firms.

Important correction: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) is an exchange and securities-depository ecosystem, not a broker comparable with the five account providers below. You obtain an ADX investor number, then choose an accredited trading member to place orders.

Editorial method: this comparison uses regulator registers, official product pages and published fee schedules checked on 28 July 2026. It is general information, not personalised investment advice. Regulation does not prevent market losses or eliminate every operational or counterparty risk.

Emirates NBD SecuritiesDetailed published fees and local/global accessADX, DFM, Nasdaq Dubai and international equitiesUAE brokerage; separate schedules apply by marketPublished ADX trading fee: 0.1575%

SaxoExperienced investors needing broad global accessGlobal shares, ETFs, bonds and leveraged productsProducts are offered by the relevant Saxo entity; Dubai offices are representative officesMarket, account tier, data and currency-conversion fees vary

Our selection method: current availability to UAE residents, identifiable regulator or home-state supervisor, clarity about the legal entity, market breadth, published pricing and suitability for the stated use. This is not a performance ranking and no provider paid for inclusion.

Three steps for buying UAE shares: obtain an investor number, choose a regulated broker and fund the account
Buying local UAE shares requires a market investor number and a brokerage account.

Choose the market before the app

If you want to buy…You generally need…Do not confuse it with…
ADX-listed UAE sharesADX investor number plus an ADX trading memberA CFD tracking the share price
DFM-listed UAE sharesDFM investor number plus a DFM brokerage accountAn ADX investor number; the markets have separate investor-number systems
US stocks and ETFsA provider offering real securities to UAE residentsStock CFDs, where you do not own the underlying share
Forex or index speculationA properly authorised derivatives/CFD provider and full risk understandingLong-term share investing
CryptoassetsA separately licensed virtual-asset providerA securities-broker licence

This product map is more important than a star rating. “Trading platform” can describe a local share broker, a foreign bank, a CFD dealer, a crypto exchange or the market itself. Those services create different ownership, custody, protection and loss risks.

    1. FAB Securities: best fit for FAB-linked local investing

FAB Securities gives clients online and app access to ADX, DFM and Nasdaq Dubai, with additional regional and international execution services. Its official FAQ says an investor number and trading account are free, account opening normally takes two to three working days, and ADX trades cost 0.15% plus applicable VAT. DFM orders cost 0.275% plus applicable VAT and AED 10 per order.

Choose it if: you already use FAB and mainly want UAE-listed shares. Check before opening: bank-account requirements, the exact international-market custody chain and the total currency-conversion cost—not only the headline commission.

    2. ADCB Securities: clearest published local-share fee schedule

ADCB Securities publishes a detailed schedule for ADX, DFM and Nasdaq Dubai. At the July 2026 check, its ADX total trading commission was 0.15% of trade value. DFM and Nasdaq Dubai AED trades were listed at 0.275% plus an AED 10 order fee; the document separates broker, market and order components.

Choose it if: transparent local-market charges and ADCB integration matter most. Check before opening: whether your intended account requires an ADCB banking relationship and the current fees for any non-UAE market.

    3. Al Ramz: broad market access from a UAE securities firm

Al Ramz presents one platform for ADX, DFM, US and other supported exchanges, including markets connected through ADX’s Tabadul network. Its 2025 annual report describes it as SCA-regulated, while its platform page displays market-by-market fee components.

Choose it if: you want UAE shares and selected international access through one UAE firm. Check before opening: which legal entity and custodian holds each overseas asset, the FX spread and whether live market data costs extra.

    4. Emirates NBD Securities: strongest published cross-market schedule

Emirates NBD Securities offers ADX, DFM, Nasdaq Dubai and international equities. Its published digital-wealth schedule lists 0.1575% for ADX, 0.2888% for DFM and 0.231% for major US exchanges, with a $15.75 minimum on the named US venues. Custody and other market charges may apply depending on the asset.

Choose it if: you want local and overseas shares and value a detailed public fee sheet. Check before opening: minimum international commissions, annual custody charges and whether the bank’s current promotional “zero brokerage” offer applies to your account and market.

    5. Sarwa Trade: best fit for US stocks through an ADGM firm

Sarwa Digital Wealth (Capital) Limited is active on the ADGM FSRA register under FSP 190037. Sarwa Trade provides self-directed US stocks, ETFs and fractional shares. Its published price is the greater of $1 or 0.25% per stock or ETF order, with a stated $500 minimum and no custody, inactivity or withdrawal fee.

Read the custody structure, not just the FSRA badge. Sarwa says US securities are carried through Alpaca Securities and describes SIPC and excess-SIPC coverage. SIPC relates to broker failure and missing customer property; it does not reimburse market losses.

Choose it if: your priority is straightforward US stock and ETF ownership through an Abu Dhabi-based regulated provider. Skip it if: your goal is ADX shares; Sarwa Trade is not a substitute for an ADX brokerage account.

    6. Saxo: broad global access, but understand the entity

Saxo offers the widest instrument range in this comparison. The regulatory wording needs precision: Saxo’s UAE disclosure says its Dubai offices are representative offices. The trading platform and products are offered by Saxo Bank A/S, supervised in Denmark, or another relevant Saxo entity based on residence. The previous Saxo Bank Dubai Limited DFSA licence shows a withdrawal date of 2 July 2017.

Choose it if: you are an experienced investor who needs broad global markets and will compare the full pricing schedule. Do not choose it merely because it has a Dubai office: read the client agreement to identify your contracting entity, governing law, custody arrangement and complaint route.

A UAE office, company registration and financial-services authorisation are not the same thing.

How to start buying ADX shares

    1. Create an ADX investor number. ADX’s official guide says individuals can use UAE Pass and the Sahmi app; the NIN can be generated through the digital process.
    2. Choose an accredited ADX trading member. Compare the complete commission, cash-transfer method, app reliability, research, custody and complaint process.
    3. Open and verify the brokerage account. Expect identity, residency, bank and tax-residency checks.
    4. Fund only through the provider’s verified official instructions. Do not transfer money in response to social-media messages or unofficial domains.
    5. Start with an order you understand. A market order prioritises execution; a limit order controls the maximum buy or minimum sell price but may not execute.

Seven checks before funding any UAE trading platform

    1. Find the exact legal entity—not only the brand name.
    2. Confirm it on the relevant SCA, ADGM FSRA or DFSA register.
    3. Check the licensed activities; a representative office cannot provide every regulated service.
    4. Confirm whether you buy real securities, units, options or CFDs.
    5. Identify the custodian and where client cash is held.
    6. Add commission, minimum fee, VAT, market charges, custody, FX, data and transfer costs.
    7. Use the regulator’s real domain. UAE regulators have warned about cloned registers and impersonation sites.
