I prefer the grey SL-01: the uninterrupted shape is the attraction, and I would let it stand out against light trousers rather than add another logo. But this is a look at the January/February 2025 release, not a new US$20 UAE offer. SL-01 is not the later YS-01 slide or BL-01 shoe. The photographs below show the enclosed toe and heel; the loose use of “Yeezy Slides” in old coverage is not enough to identify what a seller is offering today.

I would ask for the actual model label, size and current photographs before comparing an older listing. The top views here show a continuous heel rim around the opening, not the open back described in an earlier image alternative. The sole photographs show a ribbed pattern; that is a visual detail, not our traction test.
The white and grey release: February 2025
The February 2025 release account identifies white and grey SL-01 options following the black pair. The price was historical launch information, not a promise that the same variants remain available today. Match the exact model on an actual offer rather than assume every product called a Yeezy slide has identical construction or fit.
The official catalogue opened for this update on 20 October 2026 displayed YS-01 and YS-02, but no SL-01 tile in that view. That does not prove permanent discontinuation or establish every regional offer. A YS-01 product view is not evidence that an SL-01 is available. The earlier 11 October observation reached the same limited conclusion.
The Direct Purchase and Delivered Cost
I would not call an overseas offer cheap until it had a usable size, a delivery commitment and a final total. The US$20 in the 2025 release coverage excluded shipping and taxes. It is not a current quoted item price, much less a delivered UAE price. Direct selling also does not establish that every fulfilment step happens in house.
Compare the delivered total instead of the old US$20 item price alone. Shipping, disclosed fees and any import or forwarding costs can change the value of an overseas offer. A cheap item with an unsuitable size or costly return is not automatically a good purchase. We would favour a clear, usable offer over a prediction about a brand disrupting the whole market.
A low sticker can still be the dearer offer
Here is an invented comparison, not seller quotations. Offer A has an AED 90 item, AED 100 delivery and AED 30 disclosed charges: AED 220 total. Offer B quotes AED 210 delivered for the same model, size and condition. B is AED 10 less overall even though its item price is higher. If a charge is unknown, I would not put zero in the calculation and declare a saving.
Price is only the first decision. I would also want the named seller, dispatch expectation, any return exclusion and a clear remedy for an incorrectly described pair. An extra shipping payment to exchange the wrong size can erase a small saving; this example does not assume either seller permits an exchange. Do not transfer the fit advice for another YZY model to this one.

Final Thoughts
My verdict: the grey SL-01’s pared-back shape is worth a look if that is what you want to wear. I would not pay a premium simply to chase the memory of a US$20 launch. Find a clearly identified pair with terms you can accept, or leave it. A cheap headline and an uncertain delivery promise are not a bargain.
