The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2026 have concluded. Jessica Pegula won the women’s singles title, beating Elina Svitolina 6–2, 6–4. Daniil Medvedev received the men’s singles title after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew from the final through injury. This page records the 2026 tournament and explains the venue and booking considerations for a future visit. The old claim that all top-20 women would play did not survive the final entry changes.

The 2026 field: entries and withdrawals

The initial field announcement was a statement of intended participation, not a guarantee that every player would appear. On 13 February the organiser confirmed withdrawals by Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Świątek. A tournament guide needs to follow those changes rather than continuing to advertise the original field. For the actual entrants and results, use the final draw and match records; they answer a different question from an early promotional player list.

The organiser’s withdrawal notice described a field with 16 of the top 20 women at that point. Further changes are recorded in the final draw. This distinction matters when buying tennis tickets: a ticket normally gives access to a scheduled session, rather than a personal guarantee that one named athlete will play. The completed results are the reliable record of who advanced through the event.

What happened to the headline entries

The official final women’s draw records the competition and withdrawals. Ranking positions should be read in the context of that tournament, not treated as each player’s current world ranking months later.

  • Aryna Sabalenka: withdrew before the 2026 women’s event. Her initial entry did not become a played appearance.
  • Iga Świątek: also withdrew before the tournament, citing a schedule change in the organiser’s notice.
  • Coco Gauff: reached the 2026 semi-finals before losing to Elina Svitolina. That result belongs to this event and should not be confused with her results in other tournaments.

The tournament still offered a strong field, but its competitive story was decided on court. Repeating the initial star list obscures the players who actually reached the later rounds.

Andreeva’s title defence

Mirra Andreeva entered as the defending Dubai champion after her 2025 title. In 2026, Jessica Pegula beat her in the quarter-finals before going on to win the tournament. That is the useful distinction between a defending champion’s entry and the outcome of her title defence. The draw is a better reference than a pre-event promise that one player would dominate the week.

Reading the final women’s draw

The final women’s draw includes prominent players such as Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, Belinda Bencic and Elina Svitolina. Use it to trace rounds and matchups. A player’s presence on an earlier entry list does not establish that she played, completed the event or reached the match you wanted to attend.

  • Elena Rybakina: A former Grand Slam champion known for her powerful serve.
  • Jessica Pegula: A consistent top performer across all major tournaments.
  • Jasmine Paolini: A rising star who has impressed on the tour.
  • Player-list checks: for actual participation, consult the final draw rather than treating every earlier entry as confirmed attendance.
  • Belinda Bencic: An Olympic gold medalist with a crafty game.
  • Elina Svitolina: reached the final and finished runner-up to Jessica Pegula.
  • Victoria Mboko: appears in the draw’s withdrawal record, so her early entry is not evidence that she played the event.

Pegula’s title is the central result of the women’s week. The WTA’s final report confirms her 6–2, 6–4 win over Svitolina. A results-led account is more useful now than predictions of how fiercely every match would be contested.

The completed 2026 schedule

The 2026 programme comprised separate women’s and men’s tournaments in February. Those dates have passed. For a future visit, decide which competition and which session you want before booking travel: the same venue hosts both, but the schedules, draws and tickets are distinct.

WTA 1000 Women’s Week: February 15-21, 2026

The women’s WTA 1000 event ran from 15 to 21 February 2026. Pegula’s win concluded the singles competition. To revisit the week, read the draw round by round rather than assuming an initial seed list describes every matchup. Qualifying, the main draw and the final are different stages of the event.

ATP 500 Men’s Tournament: February 23-28, 2026

The men’s ATP 500 tournament ran from 23 to 28 February 2026. Medvedev was awarded the singles title when Griekspoor could not play the final through injury. The organiser’s report is explicit about the withdrawal: there was no played men’s singles final to describe as a straight-sets win or a final-set contest.

The organiser’s site holds the historical reports and current visitor information. For a future edition, check the new schedule and ticket listing together; a 2026 article does not establish dates or prices for the next tournament.

Venue & Spectator Experience

Both competitions use Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Garhoud. The organiser’s venue page describes the 5,000-seat centre court and the Tennis Village, with The Irish Village and Century Village nearby. Seat position still matters. Look at the plan for your category and session rather than assuming every seat has the same angle or that a premium label guarantees a particular view.

Booking a future edition

Tickets for the 2026 edition are historical. For another edition, start with the organiser and follow its official ticket link. Choose the competition, date and session deliberately. A tennis trip works best when you know whether your main aim is to see several early-round matches, a particular session or the later stages; those priorities can lead to different purchases.

How to Purchase Official Tickets

Use the organiser’s announced seller for the exact edition. Compare the date, venue and category on the ticket page with the tournament announcement before paying. A familiar artist or sports category page can retain old descriptions after an event ends.

An official seller reduces the uncertainty over ticket validity, but does not remove the possibility of player withdrawals or schedule changes. Read the applicable terms so you understand what your session ticket covers and what happens if arrangements change.

Ticket Pricing & Seating Categories

Old entry prices are not a quote for the next edition. Compare the actual ticket category, session and final checkout amount when sales open. A starting price for an early round does not necessarily apply to a final, a reserved-seat section or hospitality. For a group, choose the same session and compatible seats before anyone completes an individual purchase.

Checking hospitality inclusions

Hospitality should be judged by the package’s written inclusions. Do not infer a player meeting, dedicated parking or a catering entitlement from the word VIP. The useful questions are which seat is included, which lounge is accessible, what food and drinks are covered and whether any separate arrangements are needed.

  • Seat: check the specific section and the session included.
  • Lounge and catering: read the package’s actual food, drink and access terms.
  • Transport: confirm whether parking is included or requires a separate arrangement.
  • Artist or player access: do not assume a meeting is included unless the package explicitly says so.

Compare the hospitality premium against what your group will actually use. A close view of the tennis and a hosted social occasion are different priorities. Read the organiser’s package description for the new edition rather than using a generic list of possible benefits as a promise.

Planning around the uncertainty of sport

The tournament gives UAE spectators access to two high-level competitions in the same month. For fans, the appeal is the tennis itself and the possibility of following a draw across several days. The 2026 results also show why attendance should not be planned around a guaranteed appearance by one athlete: injuries and withdrawals can change the event even at its final stage.

The original top-20 announcement did not mean all of those players competed. Sabalenka and Świątek withdrew before the women’s tournament, and other changes appear in the final draw. A strong early field can help you choose an event, but the running order and the final entry updates determine the actual session.

For a future visit, use the sport’s uncertainty as part of the plan. If seeing one named player is essential, consider how late the relevant schedule becomes available and what flexibility your travel booking offers. If you mainly want high-level tennis, a broader session choice can still be rewarding after an entry changes. Neither approach requires an unsupported promise about perfect conditions or universal player satisfaction.

Building a trip around your session

A Garhoud-based visit can leave room for Dubai beyond the courts. The useful approach is to choose one or two additional stops that fit the session time, rather than trying to pack a full sightseeing itinerary around every match. Finish the concert-style logistics first: your entrance, seat, return journey and the time you are prepared to leave.

Travel & Accommodation Tips for International Visitors

Planning your trip to Dubai is straightforward. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is a major global hub, offering excellent connectivity. For accommodation, a wide range of hotels caters to every budget, from luxurious resorts on Jumeirah Beach to business-friendly options near the stadium. Booking well in advance, especially for hotels close to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, is advisable during peak event seasons.

Local transportation is efficient and affordable, with the Dubai Metro, taxis, and ride-sharing services readily available. For visa requirements, check the official UAE government websites based on your nationality, as many countries enjoy visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival options.

Exploring Dubai: Attractions Beyond the Tennis Courts

Make the most of your visit by exploring Dubai’s iconic attractions and vibrant culture:

  • Burj Khalifa & The Dubai Fountain: Ascend the world’s tallest building for panoramic views and witness the mesmerizing fountain show.
  • The Dubai Mall: Enjoy world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment, including an indoor ice rink and aquarium.
  • Old Dubai (Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood): Immerse yourself in the city’s heritage with traditional architecture, museums, and souks (markets) like the Gold and Spice Souks.
  • Desert Safari: Experience the thrilling dunes, camel rides, and traditional Bedouin dining under the stars.
  • Palm Jumeirah & Atlantis, The Palm: Explore this iconic man-made island, home to luxurious resorts and the Aquaventure Waterpark.
  • Global Village: (Seasonal, usually open during February) Discover cultures from around the world through pavilions, food, and entertainment.

From stunning beaches to architectural marvels, Dubai offers a diverse range of experiences to complement your tennis adventure.

Fan Zones & Event Highlights

The Tennis Village provides another part of the venue experience. For a later edition, check the announced programme before relying on a particular signing session, food vendor or activity. An event listed for a previous year is not a standing entitlement attached to every tournament ticket. Possible additions include:

  • Player Autograph Sessions: Opportunities to meet your favorite stars.
  • Merchandise Stalls: Purchase official tournament gear and memorabilia.
  • Food & Beverage Courts: A wide selection of international and local cuisine.
  • Live Entertainment: Music, shows, and activities for all ages.
  • Interactive Games: Tennis-themed challenges and activities for fans.

For each activity you want, check whether it has its own time, registration or access conditions. Leave enough time to reach your booked session; an autograph queue or a meal is not a substitute for checking when play starts.

This page records the completed 2026 edition. For a new booking, use the new edition’s official draw, daily order of play and ticket terms. Player announcements are subject to withdrawals, and old ticket prices should not be treated as current offers.

Our verdict

Our verdict: the 2026 account should lead with Pegula and Medvedev’s titles, not the entry-list promise that every top-20 woman would appear. For a future visit, book the session you actually want and leave room for the sport’s uncertainty. A draw tells you the route through the competition; the daily order of play tells you what is scheduled on a particular court; the ticket terms tell you what you have bought. Reading all three produces a better plan than following an old headline.

Use the official tournament site for the next edition’s announcements and ticket links. The February 2026 dates on this page are an archive, not upcoming sessions. If you are checking an old result, go directly to the completed draw or match report.
