Parkin Launches AI-Powered Parking as it has launched AI-powered parking guidance across three major Emaar destinations — Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, and Marina Mall — using real-time sensors to steer drivers directly to available spaces.
How It Works
The system uses a network of cameras and sensors installed across each car park to monitor space occupancy in real time. Overhead LED indicators above each bay show green (available) or red (occupied), so drivers can spot a free space at a glance rather than crawling down every aisle. In fact, this process is part of Parkin‘s recent launch of AI-powered parking technology.
The data feeds into Parkin’s platform, which can also surface availability information through the Parkin app before you even arrive. You’ll be able to see how busy each car park level is and plan your entry accordingly — useful on weekends and during peak shopping periods like Dubai Shopping Festival or Eid.
People of Determination Spaces
One of the more significant features is how the system handles dedicated People of Determination (PoD) bays. Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, the system cross-checks every vehicle that enters a PoD space against a database of authorised permits. If a vehicle without a valid permit occupies a PoD bay, it’s flagged immediately, and on-ground Parkin staff are notified to address it. The three initial locations are:
- Dubai Mall — the largest mall in the world and the most congested car park in the country on any given weekend

- Marina Mall — a waterfront retail and dining hub in Dubai Marina
