Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has approved a new Dh140 million, 3-lane bridge project. Set to slash travel times by a crucial nine minutes, construction begins immediately, targeting completion within one year. This rapid timeline underscores Sharjah’s commitment to modern infrastructure and connectivity. The new Sharjah 3-lane Bridge is expected to become a key landmark in the emirate’s road network.

New Bridge to Transform Maliha Road Commutes

This critical project will significantly reduce congestion and travel times. Connecting Maliha Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the bridge promises a vital nine-minute reduction in journey duration. For daily commuters, this translates to significant relief and less stress on routes like the E311, thanks to the Sharjah 3-lane Bridge.

    Strategic Location Targets Key Bottleneck

The new bridge is strategically located at the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street with Maliha Road, forming a direct link to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. This spot will enhance traffic flow, alleviating notorious bottlenecks, and the Sharjah 3-lane Bridge will play a pivotal role in easing daily commutes.

This intersection is a known congestion point, particularly for drivers heading towards Sharjah Airport or onward to Kalba and Fujairah. The bridge will streamline movement, cutting frustrating waits and making journeys more predictable.

    Dh140 Million Investment: Sharjah’s Vision

The AED 140 million allocated signals Sharjah’s unwavering commitment to efficient, modern infrastructure and sustainable urban development. This investment supports the emirate’s long-term growth and directly contributes to residents’ quality of life.

By pre-empting future congestion, Sharjah aims to reduce economic losses from wasted time and fuel, fostering an environment conducive to business and residential growth. The one-year completion aligns with the UAE’s focus on accelerating infrastructure development. In short, the Sharjah 3-lane Bridge stands as an example of progressive urban planning.

    Immediate Impact for Residents

For UAE residents, especially those commuting between Sharjah and Dubai, tangible improvements are imminent. The immediate commencement and one-year completion mean smoother connections on Maliha Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

This project addresses a major pain point for expats choosing Sharjah for its lower rents, making it an even more attractive residential option. Residents should anticipate temporary traffic diversions, but long-term gains are substantial.

    Wider Benefits: Economy, Lifestyle, Environment

    • Boosting Local Businesses and Real Estate: Smoother access benefits businesses in industrial areas with efficient logistics. This stimulates growth, attracts new enterprises, and can increase property values.
    • Unlocking New Lifestyle Hubs: The bridge will make Sharjah’s events, cultural attractions, and shopping malls more accessible. Quicker trips to City Centre Sharjah or the Sharjah Art Museum will foster a vibrant social scene.
    • Environmental and Social Gains: Less vehicle idling means lower carbon emissions and improved air quality. Shorter commutes contribute to a better quality of life, offering more leisure and reduced daily stress.

    Sharjah’s Future Connectivity

This new bridge is a vital component of Sharjah’s long-term vision for smart city infrastructure. It signals a continuous commitment to enhancing connectivity and improving the resident experience, positioning Sharjah as a forward-thinking emirate dedicated to sustainable growth and modern living.
