    Key Takeaways

    • Kryptonite Collider is a new DC-themed ride at Warner Bros. World Yas Island, simulating Superman’s weakness with spinning and sound effects.
    • The ride offers family-friendly thrills without extreme drops, ensuring accessibility for younger guests.
    • Located indoors in the Metropolis zone, the ride is included with standard admission tickets, making it ideal for multi-day visits.
    • Future expansions include Superman Up and Away, a flying roller coaster set to open in 2028 and plans for a Harry Potter-themed land.
    • Warner Bros. World was recently named the world’s best theme park, emphasising its status as a leading destination in the Middle East.

Kryptonite Collider is a new DC-themed attraction at Warner Bros. World Yas Island. Set within a fictional LexCorp laboratory, the 32-seat ride uses spinning, lighting, and sound effects to simulate an experiment involving Superman’s weakness. It offers ‘belly tickles’ rather than extreme drops.

Staff members act as Lex Luthor’s employees, giving a briefing before you board. It feels like volunteering for the Everyman Project.

The circular attraction starts with a sensation similar to sitting on the blades of a giant fan. This shifts into a high-speed Ferris wheel feeling. An alarm blares “Danger! Danger!” as the experiment speeds up, prompting guests to tighten their grip on safety restraints.

The story is original to the park, created specifically for Warner Bros. World. After the ride ends, interactive displays assign you superpowers.

    Family suitability

The ride balances thrills with accessibility. Instead of intense inversions or vertical drops, it relies on rapid spinning and speed changes. This ‘vortex’ experience provides excitement without being terrifying for younger guests.

General Manager Hind Galadari described the sensation as “belly tickles”. The ride avoids the fear of upside-down drops by using rapid spinning and brief reverse movements.

The park developed this ride based on guest feedback. Visitors wanted more thrill while remaining accessible for the whole family. The result simulates kryptonite flowing through your body.

You do not need to be an expert on DC lore. Storytelling is handled within the queue and the ride, allowing guests to follow the plot without knowing character histories.

Planning your visit to Warner Bros. World Yas Island

Kryptonite Collider is included in your standard admission ticket. Located on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the park is ideal for multi-day staycations. Visitors can enjoy the Metropolis zone, where the new ride is situated, alongside DC and Harry Potter-themed areas.

The LexCorp lab is located in the Metropolis zone. Because the park is indoors, it is a reliable option regardless of the Abu Dhabi heat.

More UAE residents are using the park for longer staycations. Hind Galadari told Khaleej Times that some families are extending trips to four or five days, staying on Yas Island to visit multiple attractions.

Annual pass holders are increasing their repeat visits, bringing a different energy to the park over the summer months.

    Future expansions on Yas Island

The park’s expansion continues with Superman Up and Away, a flying roller coaster scheduled to open in 2028. Miral has also revealed plans for a Harry Potter-themed land.

Superman Up and Away will be located in the Metropolis zone. While specific details are unavailable, it will be a flying coaster. This marks the next major step in the park’s growth after an eight-year gap between permanent rides.

Miral’s plans for a Harry Potter-themed land remain a major expansion for the island.

Warner Bros. World as a UAE destination

Recently named the world’s best theme park at the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, the park is a leader in the Middle East. It is recognised as one of the safest and most fun indoor theme parks for residents and tourists.

The 2026 Liseberg Applause Award makes it the first attraction in the Middle East to receive this honour. The park continues to refresh existing experiences while adding new ones, keeping the destination fresh for residents who visit multiple times a year.
